Each university department is assigned users which manage the department activities. As mentioned earlier, a university Department is similar to an institute, but has additional workflows like accepting incoming course requests from an institute and approving students final grade sheet. These tasks are divided to be undertaken by different user types. Of these, the course creation, course request approval tasks are done by the Department User. In the real world, this is typically the Head Of the Department, or any other Department member responsible for performing the administrative tasks of the university department. The tasks performed by the department user on the platform includes:
Accept incoming course requests from Institutes
Create courses undertaken by the university
Add students to the courses
Provide Grade Sheets to the students enrolled in the department courses
Issues Certificates and Badges
When a department user creates a university course, the course goes into REQUESTED state and cannot add students until it is approved. The university course approval is handled by the IT Admin user. Once the course is approved, the department user can enroll students in the course. Upon course completion, this user is responsible for adding the grade sheets of the students.
